Q: What size speaker box do i need for my 2008 chevy silverado?
I just bought a 2008 Silverado Ext cab and wondered what size i would need to make a custom box to fit two 12" subs
A: Whatever fits under the back seat. 12" subs need about 1-1.25 cu ft of air space depending on if the box is going to be ported or not. The shape of the box is not important as long as it has the required air space so calculate the dimensions you have to work with under the seat and build the box to fit making sure the inside dimension will give you the required amount of air space for each sub.
Q: what are chevy dealers bottom dollar for a 2008 Chevy Silverado Z71?
I'm looking to buy a new 2008 Silverado Z71, I'm wondering how low dealers will really go on price. Anyone have an ideas? Cheapest price
A: Its really tought to say. Dealerships that sell more can sell for less.
You could probably get $8,000 of MSRP but they won't give it up easily and many of them won't do it at all.
This will really depend on where you live too. In large metro areas the dealers sell more cars and usually sell them cheaper. Outside of these areas you might not get more than 4000-5000 of MSRP or less.
Q: turbocharger or supercharger for a 2008 chevy silverado?
i know in racing games, you vehicles usally have one or the other, but not both, so i wasn't sure if you can only put one type on a vehicle and if so, which would (or if either, should) go on the 08' chevy silverado?
A: A supercharger will give you immediate horsepower and torque. You can get one that fits under the hood, McCulloch, etc. A Mc Culloch or one like that, will work with the compression ratio your engine has. A turbo has a lag when you first get in the throttle. You can install both but it would be a nightmare. What I like about the blower (supercharger) is if I have to let off the throttle on a hill, it picks up quick whe I get back inthe throttle (torque).
Q: How do I remove the factory radio in a 2008 Chevy Silverado?
I need to get behind radio to run cables for an external antenna and power cable for cell phone.
A: look for screws on the panel. I can't tell you exactly how to remove it. but like i said. look for screws and take them out.
Q: How to play DVD in 2008 Chevy Silverado in dash player?
DVD stops playing when in drive/moving. I heard there is some kind of "cheat" process to override player default settings...Help?

When I go to GMs website and try to pick options it doesn't seem to be offered. But when I look at my local dealers inventory they list some as having manual trans. Any help please!
A: On the 2008 model silverados 1500,2500HD and the 3500HD the standard trans is a four speed hydra-matic with overdrive and tow-haul mode.The factory does not offer a manual trans as a option.Best of luck.

Q: How Do I Tighten The Spare Tire on a 2008 Chevy Silverado?

A: Find your jack kit, there should be 2 extension rods with square ends on them. You'll find a small pop off plate on the bumper, assemble the extension rods and stick them in the opening (you can look from underneath to see where the rod needs to hit). Once you're locked on use the supplied tool to turn the rods...this lowers or raises the spare tire.
This is common on most GM trucks/SUVS from 06 and up. My concern would be why it's loose. If you've never used the spare the system should have remained in it's factory position. It's possible your truck slipped through a lazy GM employee who did not ensure the spare tire winch system was at spec. If you secure the tire and it loosens again in the near future chances are the little winch is no good. I'd imagine you're still under warranty, if this occurs take it in and have it replaced.

Q: My check engine light came on in my 2008 chevy silverado?
I ran a check and got these codes: P0036 and P0141. What do I need to do? Is it something I should take care of a.s.a.p? How much do you think it would cost to repair if necessary? Need help!! Lol!

A: If it's an '08 it should be under warranty. Take it to the dealer.

A: When buying a full size PU, always buy American, prefer Chevrolet or GMC. Pay the extra for LS or LT package, you will get your money back in resale value alone. Nearly impossible to sell a used WT truck.

A: My rec to you is to wait until you do a complete system before you choose to replace one part of your system, here is why, GM/Bose has spent millions in r and d of the speakers and placement, along with the sound system, you are talking about arbitrary replacement of speakers, without really planning the overall system-don't do it, wait until you can change the whole system-just my opinion, however,

With todays electrical nightmares in new cars, I would strongly recommend that you have what ever you want installed placed there by the dealer so they are responsible.
